this ... dnt work! piece of ...!
-- Contributed by: yomommaAllan: This depends on the phone model. Motorola phones will usually need Mobile Phone Tools (MPT), whereas Nokia phones will usually need Nokia PC Suite. Check with Verizon and they should be able to help you out.
-- Contributed by: MichaelKwanI know your article mentioned transferring photos from a cell phone to a pc via a usb cable. But you did not mention where to get the free software to enable this. Alternatively, look into any software that may have accompanied your phone for the purpose of transferring pictures to your computer. You may have to purchase a compatible USB cable to do this.

Connect the data cable and choose the mode of connection by going to Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> USB data. YOu can choose to use PC Suite (included Nokia software for your computer), Printing and media (to use with a PictBridge printer), or Data Storage. The last option is probably the most straightforward if you do not have PC Suite.

This allows you to download/upload content to/from your Motorola cell phone. It's unfortunate that the V3c does not have a memory card slot, because that would make the process a little simpler (and less costly).
-- Contributed by: MichaelKwanI own a Motorola V3c RAZR phone with camera. How do you transfer photos to a computer?
-- Contributed by: dexters100@msn.comSalvador: I'm not 100% familiar with that particular phone, but what you could try doing is going into the picture viewer, selecting the picture that you would like to transfer, and check what menu options come up. One of those could be to send the photo to your memory card. In the future, it may be best to set the camera settings so that it automatically saves the pictures the memory card rather than the internal memory. Also ensure that your memory card is formatted correctly.

-- Contributed by: salvadorMalaika: There's no such thing as the Nokia U600. Are you sure you have the model number correct? If the phone comes with a memory card expansion slot, that is usually the easiest way to transfer pictures and other multimedia.
-- Contributed by: MichaelKwani have a nokia u600 and i can't transfer my phone pictures to the computer by usb because all the things in my fone don't come up n the computer how shall i do it but i can put things in to my fone from the computer but i can't put things from my phoen to the computer
-- Contributed by: malaika5/28/08- A largely useless article. First, the article is not dated, so one cannot know how recent or antiquated this information is. Next, while it's nice to know that transfering data to and from a phone is possible, there is no information here regarding the neccessary hard- or software or from whom to get it. Finally, were I an editor, I would approach this subject as if I were someone in need of- and looking for- a way to transfer data to or from a cell phone. This would force the question "Are there any relevant answers in this article?" The obvious answer to the question is "NO".

From there, you can try and transfer the picture files from the phone memory to a memory card. This card can then be read through an adapter for your computer. Alternatively, the Samsung Blackjack should have come with some synchronization software (probably Microsoft ActiveSync). This software is usually used to synchronize contacts and calendar information with Microsoft Outlook on your computer, but there is also a File Explorer option in ActiveSync as well that will let you see the contents of the phone's memory. From there, navigate to the pictures folder and then drag-and-drop the files to your computer.

Check with your user manual to see if the memory card has to be formatted a certain way, but otherwise you can just use a standard card reader and it should show up on your computer as an external drive. The first thing you'd need to do is save the pictures to the memory card, of course.
-- Contributed by: MichaelKwanI have been trying to send pictures and video files to a friends cell phone, I am sure it can be done as he sends me pictures to my computer from his cell phone.

Depending on your phone, yes, you may also be able to send pictures to your computer via Bluetooth. For this, your computer will need Bluetooth (USB dongles can be purchased for about $20) and your phone would need the Bluetooth OBEX (object exchange) profile.
-- Contributed by: MichaelKwanokay i have a memory card for my phone and everything! but i transfered one picture and after that it wouldn't work like it would not copy pictures onto my memory card from my phone so i could put them on my computer...so i was trying to see if there is a bluetooth for computers that you can send pictures via? by the way i have t-mobile, if that helps? please reply!

The easiest to execute would be to move the pictures you'd like onto the memory card inside your phone and then use a memory card reader on your computer to read the memory card. This is similar to transferring pictures from a digital camera. Alternatively, you can use the software included with your cell phone to connect the phone directly with your computer. This program should be called Nokia PC Suite or some variant of that. Follow the instructions within the program to transfer files. Using Bluetooth is a little more complicated. You have to ensure that your Nokia N72 has the OBEX (object exchange) profile open and available. Your computer also needs to have Bluetooth capabilities and you will likely link up with your phone using the computer software provided with your computer's Bluetooth dongle. This varies from dongle to dongle (usually a small USB device similar to a flash drive), but one of the most common programs is BlueSoleil. Check for specific instructions within that program for more details.

Alternatively, you can look into using a program called Mobile Phone Tools, which is specific to Motorola phones.
