Sony Ericsson Cell Phones

Sony Ericsson Cell Phones
Sony Ericsson has emerged as among one of the major cell phone brands on the market, competing directly against some beefy handset makers like Nokia and Motorola. The Walkman line of mobile phones is perhaps the company's best recognized batch of cell phones, at least in recent years, and it are the music-centric designs that have set them apart from the competition. Sony Ericsson's head office is located in London, though the company is in incorporated in Sweden.
Two Heads are Better than One
Ericsson cell phones have been around for quite some time, but it was only after entering a joint venture with Sony Corporation that the Swedish telecommunications company really took off. It was in 2001 that the two electronics giants forged their relationship, and Sony Ericsson was born. After signing the agreement, both companies ceased making phones under their own names and only release new units under the Sony Ericsson banner. They say that two heads are better than one, and this appears to be the case with SE, combining Sony's global marketing expertise (and varied electronics background) with Ericsson's telecommunications prowess.
The Walkman Line
Musicphones have become all the rage, with just about every company launching a series of cellular phones that double as MP3 players. The primary appeal of musicphone is that it allows users to carry only one device with them each day, instead of two. Sony's "Walkman" moniker is synonymous with music playback excellence, and as such, Sony Ericsson's Walkman line of cell phones is incredibly popular for its exceptional audio quality. The phones also bring a full slate of mobile communications features.
- W300: Available as the W300, W300i, and W300c, this simply designed clamshell is an entry-level model in Sony Ericsson's Walkman line of musicphones. Launched earlier this year, the W300 features a 256k-color TFT display, a monochrome external display, MP3 ringtones, a VGA camera that can interpolate to 1.3 megapixels, FM radio, Bluetooth, and an integrated music player (naturally).
- W600: This swivelling musicphone is typically clad in Sony Ericsson's signature "Vibrant Orange", and comes complete with Bluetooth 2.0, stereo speakers, dedicatedgaming buttons, MP3 ringtones, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video and flash, Java MIDP 2.0, and the Walkman media player.
- W700: One of Sony Ericsson's flagship candybar phones, the W700 is a newly announced tri-band unit. Key features include a 2 megapixel camera, MP3/AAC player, video player, Memory Stick Duo Pro expansion (256MB included), and a classy Titanium Gold exterior.
- W810: This quad-band candybar is marketed as the W810c in China and W810i internationally. Available in Satin Black or Fusion White, this phone packs in plenty of features, including 20MB of internal memory, Memory Stick Duo Pro for extra space (512MB card included), a 2 megapixel picture taker, Bluetooth 2.0, and an integrated music/movie player.
- W900: It doesn't get much better than the somewhat bulky, but equally powerful W900. A 3G-enabled (UMTS) swivel phone, this handset sports an incredible 470MB of built-in memory, in addition to its Memory Stick Duo Pro expansion slot. Other notable selling points include a 1000-entry phonebook, 2MP camera with autofocus and video, a secondary QCIF video call camera, FM radio, a 900mAh lithium-polymer battery, built-in handsfree, Bluetooth, and much more.
Other Cell Phones
While the Walkman line may attract the most attention, Sony Ericsson has offerings for just about every other segment of the cell phone marketplace as well. From minimalist bargain basement entries to almost PC-like smartphones, Sony Ericsson is ready to approach just about any consumer.
- K800: If you love taking pictures and will not compromise when it comes to screen size, the K800 just might be right up your alley. Sporting a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, video, and xenon flash, it ranks right up there with standalone digital cameras on the market. This UMTS-enabled phone rocks a huge 2.0-inch color screen, Bluetooth 2.0, MP3/AAC/MPEG4 playback, TrackID music recognition, and 64MB of built-in memory.
- M600: Touchscreens aren't particularly prevalent in North America, with the exception of full-fledged PDA phones like the Palm Treo, but hop across the Pacific and they're all over the place. The M600 from Sony Ericsson sports a large 2.5-inch TFT touchscreen, UMTS, M2 expansion, Bluetooth 2.0, Symbian OS 9.1, Opera 8 web browser, MP3/AAC playback, and Office applications.
- J300: A no frills phone that won't break the bank, the Sony Ericsson J300 is a simple dual-band GSM handset with a square 128x128 pixel color display, polyphonic ringtones, 12MB of built-in memory, a media player (strangely), and the Rayman 3 mobile game pre-installed. There isn't Bluetooth or a camera, but you do get to rock interchangeable covers.

Erna: I don't understand the language, but I think this is the link to SE Indonesia. You should be able to find a support line or email address there.
-- Contributed by: MichaelKwanI have a cell phone Ericson K750i, also my husband have always Ericsson, but now my problem is that my purple color I use before is gone and Ericsson here can't (or give impression maybe) they don't want to help me to put again.I press wrong in templates and the purple is gone, and love it so much. How to find my purple again in downloading. I live in Bali Indonesia. An other remark is that SonyEricson have a big name, but the service of the employment in Ericson office in Denpasar are terrible.Kool, not helpfull, not give us info concerning new Ericsons, what the differant with differant types and etc...it's one one I really feel unconfortable with her, not helpfull at all. I am a Ericson fan and buy since 1998 Ericson, last week I want to buy a new one, but the client service is more then below the minimum in SonyEricson DPS,like not really friendly, not entousiast to help people and give some info about the different types, also give the feeling how sooner you out how better. We both thinking next time to stop with Ericson. We can't find any e-mail address of Ericson, it's not on the web ? So please give my report to Jakarta office to replace at least one woman there, the one on the left when you come inside the shop office. Hopefully you can give me some directions ? Best regards, Erna.
