Nokia Cell Phones
Originally established as a wood pulp mill in 1865, Nokia went on to become the world's largest cell phone manufacturer, beating out hefty competition from Motorola, Samsung, and LG Electronics. The Finnish company has built up quite the reputation in the marketplace for intuitive interfaces, innovative designs, and near bulletproof reliability. From simple mobile phones to multimedia behemoths, from ultra portable clamshells to bulkier smartphones, Nokia has a handset for just about every segment of the market.
While Nokia -- the company that prides itself in "connecting people" -- started making cell phones in the early 1980s, they didn't really catch on until the 90s. For the purposes of this article, I will focus on the most popular, currently available handsets.
Classic Business Series (6000s)
The phones found in the "classic business series" typically sport tamer form factors, designed with the conservative business user in mind.
A prime example of this is the 6125 flip phone. The compact clamshell sports an adequate 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth wireless technology, and an integrated digital music player. Other features of this quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) handset include Flash Lite, microSD expansion and a large, clearly-laid out keypad.
Fashion and Experimental Series (7000s)
If you're a fan of alternative form factors, then look no further than the 7000 series from Nokia, known as a group of "fashion and experimental" designs. These cell phones depart from conventional shapes for a truly expressive personal electronic device.
The Fashion and Experimental Series is epitomized by the 7380. Shaped somewhat like a chocolate bar (some have even mentioned that it looks like a demented lipstick bar), the 7380 lacks a conventional keypad and its small, mirror-like display is nearly invisible under direct sunlight. This phone truly takes fashion over form, and serves more as a decorative accessory than it does as a utilitarian mobile phone.
E Series - Smartphones
Seemingly picking up where the 9000 series left off, the E Series of Nokia cell phones have extra functionality in mind. These smartphones typically pack in loads of additional features not normally found on conventional handsets. As such, they are often compared to PDA phones on the market like the Palm Treo, Blackberry, and i-mate. This comparison may not necessarily be "fair", but it is nothing out of the ordinary to spend in excess of $500 on an E Series handset.
One of the newest additions to this line is the Nokia E70 Smartphone. In addition to tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) and EDGE connectivity, this phone is 3G ready, capable of using UMTS for high speed data transfers. The E70 also has built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 1.2, and VoIP capabilities. The flip out QWERTY keyboard makes texting, emailing, and data entry very easy. Other features include an integrated 2 megapixel camera with video recording, an MP3/AAC/MPEG4 player, Blackberry connectivity, and Push to talk (PTT).
N Series - Multimedia and Entertainment
As music playback and video on demand become more popular features found on mobile phones, people are going to want better and better handsets that best suit these needs. Nokia is well prepared for the ongoing revolution with the N series of multimedia-geared cell phones.
The latest is the Nokia N93. Announced in April 2006, this phone is not even on the market yet. A video was recently released by Nokia, showing an advanced three-dimensional fighting game being played on the N93. The graphics are said to be on par with the original PSone, and the gameplay appears "Tekken"-like. In addition to a dual flip and tilt design, allowing for both portrait and landscape orientations, the Nokia N93 features an incredible 3.2 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, Carl Zeiss optics, and 30fps video recording capabilities. Other features of this Symbian OS 9.1 / S60 3rd edition based phone include multimedia playback, stereo FM radio, TV out, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, UMTS, and miniSD expansion.

This may involved holding the OK button, for example, for several seconds. This varies from model to model, but without the correct file structure, the card may not be read correctly by your phone.
